Marijuana delivery in California is a regulated retail channel. Licensed businesses bring cannabis products to a customer’s address, and the state sets clear rules for both sides of the order.

    Who can order marijuana delivery

Adults 21 and older can order for recreational use. Patients with a valid physician recommendation can order medical cannabis from age 18. The courier checks a government ID at the door, and the order is handed over only to the person who placed it. A package left on a porch is not allowed.

    Where marijuana delivery is allowed

Delivery goes to a physical address, such as a home or apartment. Orders to schools, day care centers, youth centers and public property are not allowed. A P.O. box does not count as an address. Local rules on storefronts do not stop marijuana delivery from a licensed retailer in most California cities, so availability depends on the service area of each seller.

    How to check a seller

    • Find the state license number on the website and verify it in the California Department of Cannabis Control license search
    • Confirm that the courier is an employee of the licensed business
    • Look for lab test results for every product
    • Compare the delivery window: state rules allow marijuana delivery from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

What the rules say about the courier

A driver carries a limited amount of product and cash, rides in a vehicle with GPS tracking and an alarm, and keeps a delivery record. These requirements reduce theft risk and keep inventory traceable.

    What arrives in the package

Products come sealed in child-resistant packaging with a universal THC symbol. The label lists THC and CBD content, batch number and test date. Check the dose per serving before the first use. Edibles take up to two hours to work, so wait before taking more.

    Payment and costs

Prices include state and local cannabis taxes, and many sellers add a delivery fee or set a minimum order. Cash and debit are the common payment methods, since federal banking rules limit card options.

    Safe use after delivery

Store products in their original packaging, out of reach of children and pets. Do not drive after use. Keep the receipt for returns and for any product concern.
